Ohhh engagement sessions. Aside from the obvious benefit of having beautiful photos to show off to all your friends and family leading up to your wedding day, this is also the first opportunity to get a feel for how we work.

A bridal portrait session is a fairly old and specifically Southern tradition that began in Europe. The bride schedules a portrait session, which takes place well before the wedding day, to focus solely on herself. She is photographed dressed in her wedding dress and she might also have her hair and makeup done by the same person she is planning on using for her wedding day. The resulting bridal photos are kept secret, and in many cases a large canvas from the session is displayed at the wedding reception.
Bridal sessions are a chance to capture beautiful, stress-free portraits. It is the perfect time to capture photos while all glammed up after having your trial hair and makeup with your day-of artist. You’ll still have photos taken of just you on your wedding day, but this is a chance to get extra special photos without being worried about your timeline. You’re going to spend so much time planning out your bridal “look.” It makes sense to dedicate 1-2 hours of bridal photography to capture all of your hard work! Plus, I personally think it’s a lot of fun!

However, not every woman knows this. I hear ladies say "this is so outside of my comfort zone, I could never do that" or "I'm just not happy with the way that I look." It excites me to tell you that this kind of thinking could not be more wrong! Boudoir photography is for you - yes, you! After a session with me you'll be ready to rock that runway girl! Boudoir is my favorite session to offer (shh!) because I can see the moment when a woman feels sexy and beautiful. That's the secret behind great boudoir photos... that's what I'm here to capture. Boudoir photos are for every woman - tall, short, curvy, dark, fair - everyone. Additionally, boudoirs are a great way to surprise your partner before or on your wedding day, or for any other special reason afterwards 'cause hey - you're so beautiful, you don't need a special reason to show that off!
Boudoir sessions are completed in my home studio with a hair and makeup artist to help get you ready for the session. It's a way of pampering yourself and help bring out your natural beauty (and you also don't have to worry about doing your hair and makeup yourself! Yay!) We always encourage you to bring a friend or two - it's way more fun to have mimosas with friends. After your session, we'll pick your favorite photos and make an 8x8" keepsake book for you to share or keep for yourself.
